GreaterWorks Spring Break Trips
Part of our doing justice is taking the knowledge we’ve gained through our experience and thoughtfully sharing it with those outside our immediate community. We know that lives can be changed and long term change can take place if we invite others to be a part of our experience. We give groups an opportunity to experience firsthand some of the injustices and issues that run below the surface problems in our communities and ask them to bring that knowledge home to be advocates for change. Through our Spring Break Trips, GreaterWorks team members are given the chance to share the life lessons they’ve learned during their year and introduce others to the community they call home.
What to Expect
The GreaterWorks program is built upon our core values – Pursuit, Adventure, Immersion, Experience, Reflection and Refinement. Our Spring Break Trips are also centered on these same six values.
Though a week-long trip doesn’t have the same dynamics as a nine month intensive immersion experience, we seek to give anyone who comes on a trip with us a taste of what each of these values is about and pray that no one will return home the same as when they left.
Whether you join us for a week, many aspects of your experience will be similar. You should expect that your experience:
- Will be centered on the person of Jesus Christ and the pursuit of his way.
- Will involve an adventure in ministry – an opportunity to minister to and serve others from within your team and within our community.
- Will allow you to be immersed in the community and culture – come expecting to learn from, live with and live as the community.
- Will include actively processing your experience together and learning from each other.
- Will involve reflection, study and prayer to allow God to influence us by His agenda and to ensure today’s lessons aren’t quickly forgotten.
- Will be another step in your life’s journey of being refined, molded and shaped into Christ’s likeness through the Holy Spirit.
